Question Quick id of this epiphone les paul please...

I have a line on this for two bones and headstock is not very clear.
I think it's standard plus top but wanted to confirm. Can't make out what it says on the truss rod cover.
Serial starts with DW040200## so I assume it's 2004 model.
thanks

Sometimes I wonder if some sellers are really trying to sell their guitars. What a terrible pic. Ask the seller for better pics of the headstock and the back since you want to be sure it’s a set neck LP.

I got it for whatever it's worth.

Here's a pic of headstock.

It clearly says Gibson on the truss rod cover. I see 4 pots which is good, cheap Epiphones usually have just two. Can’t tell if the top is carved. Is the neck bolt-on or set neck? If set neck then that’s a decent deal at $200. If bolt-on, then $200 is about what they go for brand new.

What bolt-on Epiphone lp goes for $200 new that has 4 pots and abalone inlay?
I don't recall any model.
Les paul 100 has dots on the fretboard.
The cheapest 4 pot lp with matching inlay I see is Studio model that is $400 new, on sale at $300 sometimes.

Haven't tested it yet so not sure if it even works. I drove 2 and half hours in rush hour traffic so it better work.
Here's a pic of the back.
Looks like it is set model from the pic, no?

BTW, it came with strap, a small Johnson amp, stand, korg tuner and cable.

Hard to tell they’re abalone from the pic, but I did pass on the fact they’re trapezoid style which is a feature of their $500+ LP’s. $200 with the goodies is a good deal.

I was looking for little better than beginner guitar and this one fits the bill.

Just tested and it works.
One pot is scratchy so needs a shot of deOxit.
Those were seller's pictures.

Here are mine: Still not sure what exact model is but from my research, it looks like a Standard Plus Top Pro.

Ah much better pics. Congrats on your NGD! A scratchy pot is a $10 fix and a few minutes with a soldering gun at worst.

Congrats! I don't know if it's a Plus model or not but that's a nice flame top.

Regarding the serial #, I found an Epiphone serial number site and "DW" means it was made in DaeWon, China. I think you're correct about the "04" meaning 2004.

Send Epiphone (or Gibson) an email and ask them the model/specs. I did a few years ago for my Epi Slash and they responded. Just make sure to include pics.

Thanks.
Pro model supposed to have coil tapping.
This one doesn't so I guess it's standard with alnico pickups instead of probuckers.
I'll email Epiphone.

After I did more research, I was pretty confident it's Standard PlusTop model and Gibson confirmed it.

Hi,
The pictures and serial number are indeed consistent with an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plustop model in Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish, made in China in February of 2004. Thanks, and I hope this helps!
