Well it certainly is pre-1955, given that it has 19 frets instead of 20.
And I believe the tapering of the headstock was discontinued circa 1950, if the LG-2 history follows the same pattern as the J-45 and J-50. Chris Stapleton's late-50's LG-2 has a lot more pick rash on the bass side of the soundhole, FWIW. I doubt this one has been relic'ed. One peek under the larger pick guard would tell the tale.
