My mom tells me I was named after Marty Robins?!? I do find his voice very smooth and soothing. I grew up listening to my parents play his records along with other 60s and 70s country. My dad started playing guitar in the late 1940s (he was born in 1942 and started playing guitar at 6) so he played a lot of early rock-n-roll and country. Fun stuff.

A White Sport Coat may have been his first hit?
