SOLD!!! Vintage Takamine F-340 from the 70's
Very nice example of the ''Lawsuit"D-18 replica from Takamine and made in Japan. Usual nicks and smudges. I tried to show the obvious dings in the headstock, one in the soundboard, and a few close together in the back. Other than these, the guitar is pretty clean for a 40 year old guitar.
I had the LR Baggs M-80 magnetic soundhole pickup professionally installed, and it sounds great!! I chose to have it done with a separate hole (as shown) to allow the original strap button to remain in place. I also added a strap button the side of the neck. I have steel wooled the fretboard and frets, and oiled them and given the guitar a nice polish job and restrung with Elixir Nanoweb PB lights. I also purchased some really nice Snakewood bridge pins from Stew-Mac to complement the color of the bridge. I still have the original black plastic pins with white dots that I will include in the case. This guitar has a HUGE sound for an instrument of it's size, and is a great players guitar!! The Sitka top is very nicely aged and darkened and has some nice tight grain lines. The mahogany back and sides give it a nice woody snap and projection. Comes with original chipboard black case with blue lining. All of the latches work and are in very good shape. No cracks or repairs that I can see, and belly around bridge looks flat. Nice low action makes this very playable. I am thinning the herd and decided to sell this gem from around the time I was graduating high school. I am not the original owner of course, but it has lived in a non-smoking environment here at my house and I have not gigged with it since I have owned it. NOW $400.00 (was $450.00) plus shipping. I am in the DFW area of Texas for anyone close by that wants to test drive. Thanks for looking!!

never seen this...
I've seen a few of these...got a buddy who has one...I've never seen one with an adjustable bridge. Do you know if that is original? Also, how are the frets? do they have a lot of wear? thanks

PM responded to.
As far as the bridge, that's a good question. I have no idea about if it was changed out at some point. I looked at some of these same guitars on Ebay and don't see any with adjustable bridges. Also, this is a F-340, not a F-340S. Not sure the difference between the two......... There is some fret wear in the cowboy position. Not much further up the neck. Again, this is a great player guitar..........if I wasn't wanting to bring some $$$ back in to offset another recent purchase, I would definitely keep this one. It also sounds great in alternate tunings like DADGAD.

The "S" in the designation stands for "solid top." Those without the "S" have a laminate top. This holds true for all the various Martin knock-off Taks.
Which are really good guitars, BTW. I've had a couple.
