Her version of "Will you still love me tomorrow" is moving.

I loved Love is a Losing Game. So original and yet had that 1940's vibe to it at the same time.

I’d agree with this. It’s tough to choose a favourite as she came up with so many ‘classics’ in such a short career but Love Is A Losing Game takes me to another place every time I hear it. She was unbelievable and rare talent taken far far too soon. Best female vocalist I’ve heard since I first listened to Billie Holiday. |

Yep. Huge talent, painfully honest and generous performer, and a tragedy in real time.

Maybe check out Neko Case and Laura Veirs (or Case/Lang/Veirs) too. Less pop, more alt punk/folk/whatever, but pretty great stuff. |

I'm in the same boat, never picked up on her till she was gone.
But once I did notice, yea... "WOW" truly sad and tragic what happened to her. |

Incredible talent. Too bad she hooked up with the wrong people.

Yeah, she was an amazing talent, and quite easy on the eyes!
You might listening to another talented vocalist, Sara Loera. Not sure where her career is going, but a joy to watch! https://youtu.be/12Om1c9YTIw https://youtu.be/qmbsw0n3d_0 Quite a pair of lungs!

Just wanted to bump this up. So very busy, but so in love with this woman's music. For two months I listened to her almost exclusively.
This month marks ten years since her passing. What could she have done with her life and music had she lived? scott memmer |

Larry, I just LOVE that track. To my ear it sounds like this was recorded early in her career, before the trouble began. Her voice sounds so pure, and she just sounds HAPPY, like she's smiling as she sings.
What a talent. Thanks for your post. scott memmer |

BTW, the same film maker had previously made an excellent documentary about the life and career of Ayrton Senna, the brilliant Brazilian Formula 1 driver who died on the track at Imola in the early nineties. Compelling and fascinating. I was not much into F1 till I saw that doc, now I love it. scott memmer |

It's hard to believe she's been gone ten years. What a loss.
