This is a Guy Clark song but Lyle Lovett adopted it:

Thanks Glenwillow, one of my favorite Lyle Lovett performances. I like when Lovett says this was a throwaway for Clark, and that Clark just made it up on the fly, then Lovett pauses and says 'It just ain't fair..' lol. Anyways, I thought your performance of this was outstanding.

Thank you TT -- I appreciate your kind words. I also enjoyed your performance of "This Old Porch." Well done!

I seem to remember that @GlennWillow did a great version of this, but since he hasn't posted it yet here (and it doesn't seem like I'd posted it before), I'll put another song LL performs and kind of made his, but that he didn't write.

I like to think this song is about inclusion, so as good a time as any

p.s. great topic, and contributions by those that came before me!

I LOVE this song and your version is outstanding! My wife loves bears so I had to do this one for her!

It was nice of Keith Rogers to remember the "Bears" cover I did some time ago. I'd forgotten about it. I liked Keith's version that he put up a great deal.

Here's what I had done in the past:

Here is a video I did with Maury when I bought my 000-28 from him. He is such a great guy in person! She's No Lady
