But I am not losing it.. I bought an Epi worn SG around the same time as the LP special and did gut that one.
It sounds like you and I have similar tastes in guitars. I also have a faded SG. I left it as is for now.

Just thought I would give an update. After originally looking at Epiphone, I set my sights on a Gibson Les Paul Tribute Special. Ultimately, I bought a Gibson SG Standard. It’s a fantastic guitar, so much so that rather than dedicate it to slide, it’s going to be my main electric. I have loved the SG since seeing a picture of Jerry Garcia playing one. The guitar is super light, literally lighter than my acoustic, and the rhythm (neck) pickup sounds fantastic.

Thanks to everyone who has chimed in on this thread. I love reading about guitars I don’t know much about.

Isn't it funny how that works?

Pretty guitar, enjoy!

What a great update! Congrats on the Gibson SG Standard. I have one too. Fantastic guitars and so easy on the shoulder with its weight.

You should create a NGD thread for this! It's exciting.

What about the new Epi 335 or 339? Has anyone played one of those?

I'm curious too, though I'm fixed for blades with my older Epi 335 and 339. For example, many didn't care for the older Epi Pro 335 neck profile with it's beefy, squared-off shoulders, though I can live with that myself. And the P90 version of the 339 that I love seemed to be a limited availability model (GC/MF exclusive?) -- and while the current Epi humbuckers are OK they don't seem to be in the newer Epi IBG mix other than on the solid-body types.*

*And an Inspired By Gibson Casino model would be a contraction in terms now wouldn't it.

If it helps, I own a les paul traditional. I recently tried an epiphone les paul just to compare and I wasn't disappointed. You may find good ones or not so good ones. Some stores also take care of their guitars better than others.
