It’s true Paul. Jamie has three now and one foot in the door for number four.

Another lovely build, John. I love the proportions on the three piece back, and the wood quality of both top and back/sides is amazing. Dave

Absolutely, John, I’m a sucker for redwood. The rosette is beautiful, so all around it is a great build so far.

Really quite a beauty! I love the small wedge on the back. It adds a unique visual element and turns a potential obstacle into a benefit. Nice work fellas!

Thanks very much Seth. I think it’s interesting how much innovation arises from necessity.

The neck
Here is the layup for the neck. It's curly walnut of course with two layers of maple and a center section of Kingwood that will match nicely with t he Brazilian back veneer. A little sapwood is showing but that will be covered by the fingerboard and not show at all on the back of the neck.

Neck work
Thicknessing the peghead
Sanding the final thickness and the volute using a spindle sander Back of peghead ready for back veneer The fingerboard extension Is cantilevered and will be subtended with a piece of walnut for extra support. This shows cutting a ledge in the neck to receive that piece of support wood. Fitting the support into the shelf. Gluing it on Two carbon fiber rods run the length of the neck and out to the end of the FBE. Gluing those down with epoxy Here you can see the CF rods beside the truss rod channel and on into the FBE.

Good looking neck brother. And I like how the grain direction of the extension matches that in the neck. I know it won’t be seen, but it’s still a nice touch.

That neck looks great John! I love the wood choices and the figure in the walnut always makes for a gorgeous instrument. I also love how you reinforce the neck with the carbon rods which makes for stability and rigidity that we all want in a guitar neck. The shape of headstock has always been one of my favs. Thanks for sharing!!
