The stiffness was in the fretting as well as the overall playability. It always felt like it was straining. Like when you first learn barre chords and haven’t quite mastered getting a clear sound out of the chord. Nothing worse than feeling you are fighting the instrument and it’s winning. I had a Sean Watkins model, OMC (OM cutaway) that was probably my favorite of the Bourgeois I owned. It was East Indian rosewood and Adirondack. #6 of 25, I believe. I also had a Brazilian rosewood one, which was nice, but not as nice as the rosewood one. It’s the only Bourgeois I’d buy back. |
