I currently use the looper in my Boss AD10 with an external FS5U footswitch for stop/clear functions, which does all I need.

Prior to the AD10, I used an EHX 720 which was very good, good clarity and samplerate, a little better than the Boss RC30 I had previously, which in itself was no slouch.

HI PP…

I've used an old Boss RC-20 for years. Works great and sounds great.

If I were to get a new one, based on the way I like to use loopers, it would be the Pigtronix Infinity III (with extension foot switch).

Hi PANDAPANDELO
EHX 720 looper. Good sound, 2 buttons, easy to use. It has 10 locations to store loops, handy to have, but I do all my loops live.

I'm looking for a new Looper ..
I currently have the MXR Clone Looper.
It works and sounds great.
Except when erasing the loop.
It plays back for a few seconds through the sound system..
Not the best for live shows!

The EHX 720 seems like a good one..
Hopefully the erase feature is muted?

Hi JakeStone
Almost all modern 2 button (or more) loopers have the 'other' button configured so if you stand on it for 2 seconds (even when stopped or paused) it erases the active loop without starting the loop again.

Usually one button starts the loop and engages overdubs, and the other button stops the loop.

I'd look for other features in a new looper which fit or stimulate your style of looping.

Loopers all used to be alike, but nowadays, the more sophisticated ones have so many features you really need to check them out. YouTube demos are your friend.

EHX 1440.

It has double the looping storage time, 20 storage slots, a separate programmable fade out for each loop location, and a easier to use display.

What looper you should choose is really going to be based on how YOU use a looper. Refine your choice according to your needs.

Hi Jake, yes on the 720, the 2nd switch stops the loop, and if you want to delete the loop, it silently deletes by holding switch down for 2 secs.

I'm surprised the Ditto X2 hasn't been mentioned. I see it fairly often locally among musicians who loop, and it usually pops up in these conversations. The FX switch (built-in half-speed and reverse) can be toggled so it's a Stop button with one tap. Five minutes, unlimited overdubs, USB for other stuff with a computer. The X4 is more capable so, as said, you have to ask yourself how you're going to use it.

Lately I use the TC VL3X as a complete all in one solution. It’s great.

Default Aeros

Just picked up last week the Singular Sound Aeros Looper. For me personally this is the best I’ve owned. It doesn’t have some of the effects other loopers have, but rather a better songwriting tool. The touchscreen is fantastic, and I like the volume wheel. Nice touch being able to fade off a loop without a volume pedal, and being able to control the loop volume on the fly. The loop transitions are pretty seamless.

I do have a Beat Buddy, but integrating that if I choose to do so will be a bit down the road, having fun just using it on it’s own.

imho Aeros is best looper on market now. 👍
But not so cheap a I have no use for all its functions,
so this is why I still use Ditto X4.

I feel that you may be right after it has a few more firmware updates. Until then it is (still) sitting on my shelf.
