The rosette is Abalone (Ablam) and curly Koa. the Koa was cut, thinned to size, then bent around a hot copper pipe. The Abalone was cut with a jewelers saw then sanded in a fixture I made to size it correctly and to trim the joints. The channel was made with a laminate trimmer in a circle cutting jig.

Hey Bill, nice looking guitar, I especially like the rosette. I don't think I have seen such a wide Ablam/Abalone rosette before, but to my eyes it is beautiful combined with the Koa. I also love HRW for its tone, how do you like the sound?

Is this D. Stevensonii or Tucurensis ... both are called HRW. Both can make fabulous guitars ...

Lovely work, Bill !!! And the quality of the woods used in that guitar are simply fantastic. You've created a beautiful instrument.

This is Stevensonii, I also have some Tucurensis and that is much lighter. The Tucurensis they are calling Panama Rosewood.

Thanks, Bill!

Is it harder to make a left-handed rosette?

It was, I had to do everything upside down.

I love the Honduran, I have made more guitars of out of it than any other wood to this point.
