NGD: M.J. Franks OMD Carpathian/Brazilian Sunburst!
Hello All,
I finally received delivery last week of my eagerly-anticipated guitar from Mike! And I finally brought myself to set it down and take some pictures to share. What can I say? Mike has surpassed himself. The craftsmanship is impeccable. I love the sunburst - kudos to Joe White, the finisher. The tone is lush, harmonic, the bass is booming, the trebles clear and crisp, playability is like butter! It's an incredible guitar. I'm too shy about my playing skills to ever put clips up but take my word for it - it sounds every bit as good as it looks.

Help a guy out here please. I've got the pictures uploaded on Flickr. I clicked the add image icon and pasted the http link. Still no pictures. What'm I doing wrong?

Looks like you figured out the picture thing.
Nice looking guitar. Joe White sure does a nice finish!

Congrats! I'm glad you also mentioned the finisher (Joe). Some folks don't realize that some of these custom guitars are finished by someone other than the luthier.
I just checked out Mike's website (http://www.mjfranksguitar.com/index.html). Looks like he does about 10 guitars a year ... you're one of the lucky ones! What made you pick Mike over other luthiers?

I was introduced to Mike by Kevin Click (Clicktone on this forum). Kevin was playing a Franks OMD at the time which sounded so great that I commissioned my first build, a dread, back in '09. That was (and still is) an awesome instrument but I was so enamored of Kevin's OMD that I commissioned a second guitar. Over the past couple of years Mike's become not just my luthier of choice but a friend as well.

Yes, Joe brings out that extra "something" in Mike's builds. Thanks for the kind words. If I can unload one of my other guitars, I'd consider commissioning a 12-fret 000 or 00. Kevin's got a 12-fret 000 that's killer.
