Did you say you were trying the Timefactor? How's that going?

I thoroughly miss my RC Booster... Great pedal!
I'm LOVING my stuff. The Timefactor is awesome as Aki endorsed. Dual delay is great. Definately get an external foot switch for tap tempo if you intend to use the switches on the Timefactor face to switch patches. Very flexible and easy once you "get it". Global tap tempo and the ability to limit the number of banks is nice too so that you don't have to scroll through all the banks to go back one. I run a solid 4 delays so I limit it to 2 banks and am there in at most 2 stomps. Sound is unreal. Especially the vintage. Have not done the midi since I want flexibility (e.g. I use my Musicom to set the tone from a mix of all my other pedals and use the delay off that patch).

RC Booster is killer, everything a boost should be. Not that thrilled about the Fatboost. Tried to love it, but didn't.

I'm very happy. Feeling much more in control of the tone (more so than with the GT-8 where it was just too much effort for what I got out of it).

Here is a summary of what I've bought and tried and what made the team as a (k) keeper (so far...hehe)

Hey Fellas -

In my quest to fine tune, I came across the Xotic BB Plus (Terrific Pedal - if I was pressed to only go to one OD/Distortion pedal this would be the one. Killer tone, articulate even at higher gain, lots of ability to fine tune the tone, etc.) And on top of it, there are two channels that are playable by themselves as well as stacked....IN EITHER DIRECTION. Very very cool. Thought I'd pass it along for those tone seekers out there.

Also came upon the ZVEX Distortron which uses the Box of Rock circuitry. Another amazing pedal for BofR lovers out there (aki).

Well, my Keeley PHAT Modded Blues Driver BD-2 and ZVex Box of Rock are up for grabs if anyone is interested PM me. Both are in terrific shape.

690!

One nice thing about a Strat, especially for a tone guy, is that, if you have any ability with a soldering iron, or know someone who does, then the Strat is the easiest guitar to modify. Heck, a quick search on eBay will show scads of ready made, fully wired pickguards ready to drop in and all you have to do is solder two wires.

My recommendation: get a nice used American Deluxe Strat (nice necks in V or C shape, locking tuners, etc.) in the condition that you want. Then pick out whatever pickups, in whatever configuration (SSS, HSS, HSH, HH) you want. Then choose from the seemingly endless array of pickguard materials out there. Then start looking at the all the circuit mods that are out there (as a tone guy you should really check out www.turnstyleswitch.com) and the possibilities become mind-numbing - in a really fun way. You can get a wonderfully playable, great looking, tone monster, for not a lot of money. And the beauty is that, if down the road you decide you want to try something new, it's easy t o mod.

Stratocaster, it's not just a guitar, it's its own hobby.
