Default My completed RP1 conversion

I think I'm done with my little Recording King. All solid woods. Engelman top and Mahog back n sides
Has a few little flaws, but I couldn't be more pleased.
It plays and sounds much better and is lot more responsive.
I believe it rivals my H&D. It's just a little weaker on bottom end, but is an 0 and not Rosewood.

New neck to create 24" scale and zero fret
Ebony fretboard, evo frets and inserted mahog fret markers
More modern headpiece with RW face
added RW binding and purfings
added wood at end
Changed the bridge and added wider saddle
Removed quite a bit of material from braces
Added JDL bridgedoctor (still gotta cover up the screw head)
Removed what seemed like a 1/2" of Nitro finish and refinished with hand rubbed poly
All work was done with a coping saw, file, dremel, chisels, razor blades, a straight edge and a little plane.
spent about $200 and had a lot of fun.

Finish is minimal as it will never leave my living room

Thanks for everyone's help. All the posts of builds, repairs, etc.

Wish my flaws looked that good. Very nice looking guitar. I like it.

Bravo. Well done. Great updates.
What do you think of the JLD? I have my own opinion, but I'd like to hear yours.

Nice project, did you remove the back to work on the braces or did you work through the soundhole?

I like the JDL. With the brace shaving and what seems like a lot of break angle on the saddle, I put it on to be safe.
Trying it with and without, the top string muddiness is improved with it.

I did not remove the back, but plan to replace the back on an RP2 I've got with rosewood...just to see if I can, plus I like the sound of rosewood.

Thanks for the compliments!
