Default Need help with "Steal Away" by Robbie Dupree (1980)

Hi folks,

Trying to learn Robbie Dupree's "Steal Away" and 1 transition part has me baffled and looking for your help.

Below is a youtube video for reference. The part in question starts at 2:11 (tonight) (Bm7)
... at 2:13 Robbie goes high vocally, and the guitar chord changes to something(maybe some variation of an A ??) ...

At 2:17 the guitar begins a key change to D D+ D6 D7

I'm seeking help with the transition chord(s)/notes between the Bm7 (tonight) and the D.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsnsrmrJTC0

Your assistance is most appreciated !!

THANKS!

A13sus4 (Em9/A).

I.e., normally between Bm7 and D you might have Em7-A7 (ii-V into D). What's happening is they are just mashing both chords together (and adding F# on top for luck)! Every note of the scale except C#.
