Default WTB: OM with Macassar Ebony Tone Wood

Looking for the right OM with Macassar Ebony back/sides. Would prefer short scale with either 1 3/4" or 1 11/16" nut width and some spruce variety top vs anything else. But will consider whatever is out there. Whatcha got?

Thanks, Rob

Here is a phenomenal Goodall GC in Macassar Ebony and with an Engelmann top. 15 inch lower bout like an OM - https://www.acousticcentre.com.au/co...coustic-guitar

I bought this new from Danny Brevard in East Texas back when he had the largest Goodall dealership in the US. I chose this one after trying about a dozen Goodalls in his showroom (it was a memorable afternoon!).

I brought it back to Australia and eventually sold it to a friend who is now trying to sell it on consignment. PM me if you want to know any more.

What a beauty! Would that it was in this hemisphere. Are there CITES restrictions with this tonewood? I've sent a note to the retailer looking for more info re: shipping, etc. Thanks for the heads up! Rob

Emailed the guys at the Acoustic Center and they won't ship internationally. What a drag!

There's some beautiful US based Goodall Macassars on Reverb, as well as an OM once owned by Tommy Emmanuel for only $3500.

Ah, I see you mentioned spruce as well, this other one is cedar https://reverb.com/item/19363225-goo...2017-near-mint

These are the others:

The TM guitar is somewhat beat up, but cool nonetheless.

This Santa Cruz looks rather nice - https://reverb.com/item/20224175-san...2013-near-mint

Thanks for taking the time to supply the links. That Santa Cruz is what got me started on this search. It's a contender. I really like the look of the Goodall as well but am surprised at the price relative to the condition. There's a stunning Huss & Dalton on Reverb as well but I can't justify a $8K guitar at the moment! Again, thanks!

Saw this one on Reverb which might be a contender.

Yes, I saw this, too. Intriguing but need to stick to the OM/000 platform due to physiological issues. Thanks for the heads up!

I also highly recommend a Goodall Engl/Macassar. I have a lifetime guitar with those woods. Clear yet deep.

Still looking. The one in Australia didn't pan out. There's a similar one here in the U.S. but it's got a bit more mojo than the price reflects so I'm on the fence about it.

It's totally fair to offer something like 10-15% less than the listed price on Reverb. I didn't notice the mojo it had the first looking at the listing... it is rather significant (did a cat have a field day with it?!), I could understand wanting to pass unless it was a super good deal.

Yes, I did and they counteroffered. The discount was good but not good enough to get past the wear on the back.
