Stefan Grossmans arrangement of Willie Mae
Is it me or is what he's doing with the bass a little off the beat. I get the alternating stuff fine, it seems he's going ahead of the beat sometimes and that's confusing the junk out of me. I watched other videos of people playing this and its a lot easier to follow the bass with those.
I know it'll probably come to me over night once I sleep on it, but right now its bugging me a little so I'm just winging it for now and playing the alternating and drone bass the way I think it should be.

False alarm. Once I started working it out in Guitar Pro, it fell into place. Just needs practice now. For the first time I used multiple voices in GuitarPro. Now it all makes sense.

I think the convention is to use two voices for guitar notation. More than two voices and it all becomes too messy to read easily. Two voices can sound a bit too staccato when played back by a score editor. When you play the guitar you tend to let notes ring for lengths of time that might need six voices, one per string, to notate accurately. In the past I have used at least four voices to get a score in Sibelius to sound like what I played on guitar. It did sound OK but it would have been a nightmare to read.

I think part of my problem with it is Stefan Grossman's tab is in the spaces instead of the lines and it throws me off a bit.
