Default Osage Orange SDG for the Montreal Guitar Show

Here is our second "sister" Osage guitar we will be exhibiting at the Montreal Guitar Show this coming weekend. We built two nearly identical SGD guitars to allow players to hear the difference between two top species. The other guitar has a Western Red Cedar top and Venetian cut away while this guitar has an Adirondack Red Spruce top and a Florentine cutaway. The difference is quite profound between the two very close to identical guitars.

Specs are as follows:
SDG (Soli de Gloria) body with Linda Manzer inspired wedge
Florentine cut away
Osage Orange back and double sides
Adirondack Red Spruce top
Offset sound hole
Amazon finger board and bridge
Pin less "Shadow bridge"
Koa rosette and bindings
Ebony front and back head plates with Gotoh 510 tuners
Traditional peg head shape

We hope to see some of you AGF'rs at the show.

This osage orange guitar has a rosette that isn't quite as elaborate as the sister, but it has great clean cut lines.

Like the McKnight Gear head guitar of last year, the osage sister will bring on so many more smiles!

On Saturday AGF members need to stop by the McKnight table to ask me (Mary) for a free gift until I run out. After all, what are little sisters for?

I got to play this little (little? it just felt little!) beauty at the McJam. Warm and comfortable, punchy... easy to play, easy to just noodle on. The offset soundhole made a port unnecessary - it sounded great to me as I played it.

Have a good time in Montreal, T&M!

Phil
