Default Nickel Silver vs. EVO

I recently had my main RainSong CH-PA guitar refretted with EVO and thought some periodic pictures of the frets would be interesting. The original frets were something like Dunlop 6140 and the replacements are taller Jescar EVO FW47104. I plan to revisit this thread with an update at 4 months, 6 months, 1 year, 18 months, and two years...

Original frets at two years:

New RainSong V-DR at two weeks of wear (I played this guitar exclusively while the CH-PA was in the shop):

EVO CH-PA at 2 months. So far it looks like the frets are polished under the strings.

You definitely have a very heavy hand. Evo is a good thing for you.

I just had my RainSong WS BI 1000 N2 refretted with Jescar Stainless 104 x 47. It’ll be interesting to see how it wears. My last CA Cargo had a little wear on the crown of the 3rd fret on the B string and that was also SS

I can play light strings on an electric with no tuning problems. But I do like a lot of vibrato even when playing chords and that must be the culprit.
