Welcome to the club! I was seriously considering the CH-OM and last month found a deal on a 2014 Shorty SG (basically same guitar in fancier clothes). I am still also in the euphoria stage. I agree with all the OP’s points on these guitars. They sound different from a wood guitar, but different is not inferior, and for pure utility and practicality, they are vastly superior to wood in every way.

Well, Jon, I suspect you must be a Brit. You Brits have a way with the English--I suppose because you've been using it so long. But don't worry about Mr. K; he's just messing with you. I understood you perfectly well--that's because I have Welsh genes, I suppose.
