Question Trade epiphone les Paul standard with Schecter C1 plus?

Are they equal in value?
Does shecter have better sound quality?

I would think they would be similar in value. For me, I like the strat shape of the Schecter over the Les Paul shape. Even though the Schecter has a Gibson scale length, it won't be as fat sounding as the Epi LP...

that would be an entirely subjective call. the epiphone is considered pretty good in its class so you'll have to play it prior to your checking out the schecter, as a comparison.

play music!

IME the Epi has the better pickups, the Schecter better fit/finish and an easier-handling neck profile (the Epi "Slim-Taper D" is a chunky, cheeky, hard-D that bears absolutely no resemblance to its smooth-playing Gibson counterpart - the Schecter is closer to a real mid-60's Slim-Taper with just a tad more width) - your call...

Inexpensive guitars. Tough call. For me, value would not be a consideration. Which one has the most mojo for you--which one is the most fun to play? That should be the deciding factor IMO.

I have the C1-Plus Diamond series (which I presume is what you're talking about) and a couple of Epiphone Les Pauls (Slash and Bonamassa). Two very different guitars but I would say of near equal value cash wise.

My C1-Plus is a shredder with very low action. Got it off eBay about 13 years ago and I liked it so much I swapped out the Duncan Designed pickups for EMG 81/85 set. Gigged it many times. Don't expect to get a Les Paul tone out of it though.

Why are you looking to change?

Why?
The lp pretty much lives in the case since I got Ibanez AM73.
This Ibanez is easier than the lp and sounds better as well.
So trying to see if C1+ is better.
Also never had a Schecter so want to try.

My C1+ has a very thin neck, much different than an Epiphone or Gibson. I like it. I also have a C1 Classic with the vine inlay. I'm a Schecter fan.
