A add G
I have a lead sheet that calls for an A add G. Anybody know how to play an A add G?

If that G is G natural, wouldn't that be the simple A7 chord?
One way to play it: Here's what frets to finger on the 6 strings: x means don't play that string. 0 means the string is un-fretted, IOW open. x 0 2 0 2 0 If I'm wrong I welcome corrections but I've never seen A7 expressed as A add G. |

Or
x02223 Or x02023 Or maybe with the bass with/instead. You sure it isn't Aadd6? https://www.guitartricks.com/chords/Asharp-chord/add6

If C is 1 the A is 9 and G is 7. So 9+7= 16 16-12 is 4 you subtract 12 because after 12 you start a new octave of notes. So, 4 on this scale is Eb so Eb flat would be the note you get if you added A and G.
But to be serious for a moment , I'm guessing an A add G is a an A chord with a G bass note? Moment over I'm back to silly:e ek: |

A add G? Who wrote that chart, I want to know so I can slap them.
Could be an A7 sound... But if that G''s in the bass, and not just in passing, it's a G lydian sound....VERY DIFFERENT. |

Exactly. No good asking us what it means. Ask them. Or post an image of the sheet if you can - or link to the song.
