Hi Mark,
I'm really enjoying your build threads so far - keep them coming!

One question on your lattice bracing for the back. Will the brace ends be let into the lining? From the outline traced on the back it looks like they all taper off shy of where the lining will end up.

Good luck setting up your shop. I'm just now feeling comfortable in my shop since I moved in December. Time is well spent getting everything the way you want it. Building goes much better when your not battling a bad setup.

Hi Drew,

Yes, I do tend to taper the braces down to nothing as they reach the sides on this model. This is a smaller very lightly built guitar and I am going for a very active back. I think it really adds to the fun of playing this guitar when you feel it come alive in response to your songs.

Fascinating. Definitely one of the more interesting build threads. Your bracing is incredible--little custom I-beams! As the owner of multiple koa ukes and an all koa parlor guitar, these emerging beauties certainly capture my attention. Great work.

I really like Koa too, especially for this guitar model. Koa seems to retain the clarity of Mahogany, but with a little more sparkle IMO. Plus it's just a gorgeous wood and not bad to work with.

Is that dowel form jig adjustable for different body shapes? If so, is this your invention? I've never seen one like that and it piqued my quriosity.
