Default Fair price for an OM-21 Special?

Can anyone tell me what a fair price would be for a 2011 Martin OM-21 Special in excellent condition, with very minimal signs of play/handling (no fret wear either) and no major blemishes? I've looked but all the threads have prices deleted and I can't seem to find any listed anywhere. They seem to be pretty rare.

Thanks in advance.

I would do a google search to find what dealers were selling them for new. Then I'd start at about 40% off retail. You might also find a retail price on Martin's web site.

This looks to be in the blue-book range. Beyond the reasonable price swings I'm usually willing to sacrifice getting the great deal for having the guitar I want.

Average of the sold ones on Reverb seems to be around $2200 though they range from $1700-2500.

I think prices are a bit down across the board. I just sold a gorgeous Ambertone 2016 with Schatten pickup and upgraded Martin case for $1950 plus shipping.

People here frequently mention that some forum sponsors will sell for 60 percent of MSRP. If that’s really a deal that’s easy to find (my experience was to the contrary), then you should be able to get a brand new OM-21 (which I think has the same specs as a 2011 OM-21 special) for around $2,000. So the used prices being bandied about here seem a little high. They seem high even if the baseline is Guitar Center’s current new price, which is $2,699.

I recently got one for $1975 plus tax cuz it was thru Reverb. Immaculate and sounds wonderful and absolutely worth the price. They are usually more expensive than standard OM-21s-if you can find one! Their rosewood binding, pyramid bridge, vintage toner, and wider bridge spacing set them apart from standard OM-21s.

Ah, I didn't realize there were that many differences. Sounds like a sweet guitar.

I have one. Great om. Fwiw, in my mind they are 2k guitars, more or less depending on condition.

Great guitar! And out of production. I'd expect it to cost somewhere between 1900 and 2300 used in very good condition. But the fact that it's out of production adds another element to the pricing ... desirability, and that is dependent on the buyer's opinion.

I bought an OM-18 Special, a custom run by Mandolin Bros, having all the OM21 Special specs except in mahogany and a lighter toner. Retail new was around $2600.

I'd love an OM21 Special, but I have a Breedlove OM that suits me fine. Were I shopping for one, I'd gladly pay in the high end of the range for the right one.

I wish I would have seen this one! I've been looking for one in ambertone! I remember looking at one in a Seattle shop, back when they were new, & the retailer was asking $3500 for it new. And yes, they are quite a bit different from the standard OM-21. I remember El McMeen selling a custom ambertone version; I believe he ordered it customized. I'm still kicking myself for not scooping it up. So beautiful she was! And probably still is!

There is an OM-21 on my local Craigslist for $1500 that has been sitting for a few months. I would think the specials would be between $3-500 more.
