I used to. But given how often I tend to swap, the below has been my sig for a decent long while.

Funny thing for me is that I am uncomfortable listing my gear as a part of me feels like I'm showing off. But when I see others listing their gear I don't think that of them - I find it quite interesting and don't ascribe any negative motivations to those posters at all.

Back in the early days of the internet on the Usenet discussion world, it was frowned upon to have a .sig longer than whatever post one made. I still don't love scrolling past long sigs.

I like to see the lists, and to see what the other guys are playing.
And since I'm reading theirs, I figure it's only fair that I list mine.

the other half of the reason I removed mine - not sure what purpose it really served. Might change my mind about that. And no judgement from me if someone else has a list in their signature. |

I list mine and it is current, but I don't have a lot of guitars or very much turnover, so it isn't hard to keep up. In some cases I will look to see what a particular poster has in order to figure out what they are talking about, but I don't just go down everyone's list to see what everyone has. I don't have anything worth bragging about so I don't feel like I'm bragging.

I would mention the guitar AND STRINGS used under the video.

I've noticed that too, and the gushing NGD threads and then it is up for sale a few months later. Different people definitely enjoy the hobby in different ways. Some people change guitars as often as I change underwear. Nothing wrong with that, buying and selling just stresses me out too much and I like getting to know an instrument over a long period of time unless it's just a complete dud, which is rare.
Mine is pretty current, as I don't like to turn over guitars very much. I just don't list my electrics. I like looking at the lists, to see what people are playing or maybe get an some insight about a particular model.

Which is why I don't list all my guitars. And I don't have near as many as some, but enough that a list just seems gratuitous.
