Stages of one arrangement (Sheebeg Sheemore)
Perhaps a wee bit of interest to someone who creates arrangements of existing tunes on guitar. Over two or three weeks time a fews years ago:
First clip I was just getting used to the tune and how the melody goes. Fairly straight forward. http://dcoombsguitar.com/Temp/SheebegSheemore1.wav Started to add some more additions to the basic melody and a bit less traditional recordings I have heard. https://dcoombsguitar.com/Temp/SheebegSheemore2.wav Lastly more variations and more up tempo

Very nice!
It is always interesting to get a glimpse of someone else's creative process. One of my music goals for the next few months is to create some new arrangements for several songs that I perform regularly and have known for years.

Quote:
Learn the melody lines and with simple harmony. Then consider how you want to add variations to that. Usually various ideas come to you if you are open to it. Then flesh out those ideas.
