A Near Miss! *ack*
Shabby little indoor flea market on the other side of town. I stop in now and then just to see what they have. When I asked a lady vendor if she had any guitars for sale she tells me she just sold her last guitar an hour ago - a 1939 Gibson L-7 semi-hollow body jazz archtop (?) Get this - $100 with original case. She showed me pictures. Missed it by an hour! She has no idea what she had just sold....mercy.

I guess we can only hope the purchaser truly appreciates their good fortune and that the guitar is preserved, played and passed on to other loving hands.
Better luck next time to us all. |

How much would it bite if the guy that bought it thought it was just a cheap $100 guitar and treated it as such.I dont think I could take the guitar from a person that didnt know what they had for just $100

That's not a 'lady vendor' that's Beelzebub (no relative) playing games with you.

Anyone knowing what the model was would know how much it was worth. Doesn’t add up.

I think the high road would have been to at least know she was aware of the fair market value before buying it, and making an offer more respective of that value. After all, I would still need to be able to look into a mirror after that.

My thought is the guitar never existed,
She was messing with your head, I know people that would do that, She gave you the impression she did not know guitars. It would keep you coming back to see if you could cheat her out of a guitar. You have been played.
