Default New amp day!! Fender Bassbreaker 15

I already own a PRRI for cleans and wanted something for overdriven tones. I tried out Marshall and Orange amps. Both were good. After playing the Bassbreaker at GC, I decided to go that route. This is a special edition version from Sweetwater with a different speaker and cream color. Was on sale for President's Day for $100 off or otherwise I might have just bought the one from GC. Well, also the one at GC was a floor model and had some scuffs on it.

I am able to get some pretty nice overdriven tones out of it and so far I'm pretty happy. I plan to trade my Boss Katana 50 for a new pedal at GC then I'll be back to all tube amps. The Katana isn't bad, but I felt is has a certain sterile nature to it.

Anyway, yay for me!!20200224_095648.jpg

Congrats - lots of gain on tap there. I have the 7 watt (stock) version with classy grey tweed covering. I think the Fender logo on these is a throwback to the late ‘40s, circa 1948, a nice touch.

Very cool. I’m sure it sounds great. You should take a pic of that newly acquired 5622 with it.

That’d be a very cool shot.

Congrats! Fantastic amp. I sold mine and got a Blackstar HT-5R because the Bassbreaker was not condo friendly! I had a hard time using it quiet enough. I do miss its low end a bunch.

Enjoy!
