I visited Blake about six months ago to look at a cocobolo 00 for a potential trade deal. The trade didn't work out but I was also suitable impressed with his build. I should have just gone ahead and purchased the 00...but my fundage was a little low at the time...

How do his prices compare to Santa Cruz or Froggy Bottom? Googled his name and couldn't find any info.

Really beautiful guitar. I guess that Huss & Dalton, located about 20 miles west of me, is my "backyard" luthier....

That would be Circle Strings and Iris for me, they're only 2-3 miles up the road! I just made a big guitar purchase, so I'm done for a while but I'd like to get an IRIS AB model at some point. I think that'd add nicely to my collection. Small Jumbo, different woods and locally made. Check check and check.

My "Hidden Gem in my Backyard" story. Around 2005/2006, I bought a Mark Geiger guitar at a local shop that carried Goodalls, Santa Cruz, etc. It was & still is a thing of beauty. Shortly after, I found out that he lived 10-15 minutes away. That was nice to having him so close. Unfortunately, he moved a few years later.
