I'm happy to announce the delivery of McIlroy #937 (an A30c) completed on May 30, 2014. I could not be more pleased with this instrument. The craftsmanship is superb and (most importantly) the tone is simply amazing -- just what I was hoping for!

Congratulations, Raggamuffin, on receiving your new McIlroy A30c. If your new guitar sounds as good as it looks (and I'm sure it does) then you are indeed blessed. I let a good deal on exactly the same model slip through my fingers a year ago and have been filled with regret ever since. Here's wishing you and your McIlroy A30c many years of musical bliss together!

Thanks for this site Dr.Dave------I recently took the leap and got an AD20. I don't see many of those around for some reason. Why is that? The sound and playability is amazing. There is nothing quite like it IMHO. I'm just sorry it took me so long to get with the program with my McIlroy. My current guitars are a great cross section of the sound that I have been looking for over the years (Tried Martin, Taylor, SCGC, Collings). I just wish I would have figured it out sooner; I would have saved a lot of $$ ------but I would have not have been as much fun I guess. All I can say is McIlroy's are amazing guitars, and I'm glad to be part of the clan.

Is that a trick of the light or is Dermot holding a maple?

Smile Sycamore..

Hi, yes I think it was. To be honest I was so awestruck to be there that it's all a blur. Wasn't there very long and I'd travelled all night so was a bit spacd.
I will visit again, Dermot is so friendly and helpful AND modest. If I made instruments a fraction as good my head would be swelling!
If you get the chance, pay him a visit, ring first though. Wonderful guitars from a wonderful guy!

BYE ALL!

Hi all,
I'm listed on the first page as owning an A25c. Well I sold that a while ago and now have an A56. Very pleased with the change, even though it was a lot more expensive.
Cheers,
Malcolm

I am the proud owner of a A25C with Cedar top and Black Walnut back and sides.
Build date of Nov 2014, purchased March 2015 from WildWood Music in Ohio.
It photos are still on the site if you want to look.
The sound is great and is very easy to play. It replaced my 1976 D-35 as my practice guitar.

My A25c is ready for new strings, use it for all around playing including finger picking and flat picking. Been playing for a few years so I practice about a hour each day and do not want a string that kills my fingers.
Tried extra lights on other guitars and I seem to pull the high E string off the bottom of the neck. Sticking with lights but not sure of few good string to try for the Cedar top?

I use John Pearse 500L strings on my A25C. They sound great and provide more tension than XL's.
