I agree with others, the Queen's Gambit was intriguing! Now I'm on season 7 of Chicago Fire.

I also really liked Bosch, but I’ve read quite a lot of the book series, so I might not be a very fair judge.

Also, have enjoyed the Norsemem on Netflix.

That show is so odd, random, and funny. I get a kick out of it. A lot of those actors were in "Lillyhammer", which is an excellent watch. Also, fun fact, "Lillyhammer" was the first original series which Netflix produced.

Yes, my wife and I both appreciated "Queen's Gambit," and my wife is not a chess player. Very well acted and directed.

"The Crown" is excellent; "Victoria", I think on Amazon, is also excellent. "Bosch" is good.

I find it takes a fair amount of work to keep searching for shows that really hold my interest. My wife's tolerance for what's available and what's acceptable are way lower than my tolerance, so I have to really work to find stuff she will watch.

I find most of the shows that Netflix and Amazon are doing are just not very well done. But when they get something right, such as "The Crown" or "The Queen's Gambit," they are worth watching more than once. We are watching "Queen's Gambit" a second time. We have also watched "Victoria" and all the "Bosch" episodes twice.

We wanted to watch the old Helen Mirren "Prime Suspect" shows, but they are only available on Britbox, which we have not signed up for. (More $$$, of course.) A complete set of DVD's is ridiculously expensive. But after reading Jim Owen's comments, maybe Britbox is worth trying.

'Norsemen' was an excellent show unfettered by the shackles of political correctness gone mad. Kark was a wonderful character, reminding me of Tony Robinson's Baldrick in Blackadder. Too bad it got cancelled after three seasons.

We're now three episodes into 'The Queen's Gambit' and are enjoying it immensely.

Hey Noledog - how's it going? Looks like I need to add the Queen's Gambit to my list. Lots of recommendations here.

Currently watching “Mindhunters” on Netflix.
It’s based on the early beginnings of the FBI’s entree’ into the field of psychological behavior science as it pertains to serial killers. It’s based on a book which was written about the real agents and a non-FBI behavioral psychologist who pioneered the methods used to seek data in order to identify future killers and to help them catch the ones who are active. They accomplish this by interviewing imprisoned killers who committed mass or multiple murders.
It’s absolutely fascinating to watch. The edge-of-your-chair tension during these interviews with both sociopaths and psychopaths who kill people for a multitude of reasons can be powerful and downright disturbing. Other times, the discussions are so casual it’s as if they are talking about the weather.
You will be very familiar with most of these killers as the show progresses.
One of the better Netflix-produced offerings and well worth a look.
Warning Very Mature themes...very.

Agreed! Got a bit of a Monty Python feel to it. Love the characters!

Mindhunter is an amazing show! Unfortunately, Netflix released the cast (before covid) and we're not sure if there's going to be another season. That would be a shame. It deserves more seasons.

Hey Dru, doin' good buddy, thank you for asking! ...I'm very grateful that my shows have resumed and hopefully no more shutdowns. When I get home from a show, it's nice to unwind with some Netflix, and a bowl of ice cream. Queen's Gambit was done very well from all aspects; like a good book ya can't put down!

Britbox also has “Morse.” I’m rewatching it now. It was one of my mom’s favorites. I used to work in Oxford, so I get to see my old hangouts again.
