Ok Dan, I'm going for koa. If there was such a beast as torrefied koa, I'd say that!
I think of mahogany, walnut and koa as all giving you a broadly similar tone that will be different to the rosewoods, and probably a bari that is more manageable than one made from rosewood. Col |

Baritones are quite a rare breed in this neck of the woods. But I've enjoyed most baritones I've played just for the sheer novelty of it. Many of my guitar heroes play baritones and I'm certainly hoping to own one soon P.S. That wood looks absolutely incredible!! Walnut would have been my first guess... now I'm intrigued.

Open a photo then click on “image” tab in top menu bar and go to “resize/resample” in the drop down menu that opens. You can preserve the aspect ratio and then set the new size as a % of the original, or play with the number of pixels. Then save as a new file and…voila! Col |

I'll come back to talk a bit about the ovankgol.
In the meantime, with thanks to Tom and Daisy for documenting the journey so beautifully and so extensively, let's get this thread rolling with some build pics! Here's Tom putting the back together:

More great images thanks Dan, and I like Tom's ear stud too - it reminds me of a large bridge pin!
