I am from Buffalo. Buffalo-style hot sauce runs in our veins, here.

The only acceptable hot sauce is Frank's Red Hot.

My favorite is the Grapefruit sauce, even though I don't even really care for grapefruit - go figure. Also, the smoked habanero pepper sauce is outstanding! They now have a US store on-line:

All natural and really good flavor - try it, you'll like it!
Ordered Marie Sharp's Smoked Habanero based on your recommendation.
Smoked habaneros using like three or four citrusy woods in Belize.
Thanks for something new !

I did the same. Ordered an assortment of sauces. I like hot but there has to be good flavor with it. I look forward to getting these.

When I'm making Buffalo wings I like to use Crystal sauce and melted butter.

I'm not into hot sauce just for the sake of heat. I have to be able to actually TASTE what I'm eating. That said, here are the ones I currently use (with some variety of frequency):

Cholula Chili Garlic sauce
Valentina's
Sriracha
Frank's Red Hot sauce

You'll notice that none of these are especially worthy of wearing an asbestos bib, but they do have some good flavor.

I'm going to check out the Marie Sharpe's sauces...

Default Thailand

I served in the Peace Corp in Thailand in the early 70s. The test of masculinity for Thais was your ability to eat hot food. They would eat hot chilis right out of the jar. I compared Thai hot food to Indian to this way - Hot Thai food was like bombs bursting, while Indian food built to a hot crescendo. That cemented my love of chilis and experimentation. I have a collection of hot sauces - probably lately Melinda’s is my go to. But I sense an analogy. Many like a single guitar to commit to, while others may like a variety. I find myself in the latter camp.

I'm not real particular - but I will say that there are some (like Dave' Insanity) that have terrible flavor.

I probably have 10 different bottles at any given time and like all of them for different things.

What I don't want is something that is terribly hot that tastes like cigarette ashes.

I also like the reference above to "bombs exploding" and a "crescendo". I always like the latter more.
