Default Shindell & McKennit are quitting!

Two of my favorites are "hanging it up". Richard Shindell and Loreena McKennitt. Read their reasoning below. I just find it kind of sad that two terrific musicians & performers would up and quit almost at the same time.

Sorry to hear that. I remember seeing Richard Shindell a couple of times in "coffee houses" in church basements in Connecticut in the early to mid 90s. The kind of thing where the locals play a few tunes, the featured artist comes on, and there are brownies and cookies and coffee for sale, backed by people who are at the show. He was great.

And, of course, CD sales (he had no other merch at the time, I think). Picked up "Sparrows Point" and, a bit later, "Blue Divide." The man is very talented, IMO.

Yes, I am sorry to hear this, too. Both great musicians, great songwriters.

It's a hard road, one I have also traveled but not as long as they have.

I just ordered a Richard Shindell CD album. Dang... he is so good.
