Default Suggestions for great songs to play live

I usually add a few new songs to my setlist every month or so. However, I don't have ideas for new tunes. Any suggestions?

Maybe this is dodging your question a bit, but it would be great to see your setlist. Either that, or give us some idea for your style of play and taste in music. That way, there won't be lots of suggestions that you already have and we could get a sense of what kind of stuff you're looking for.

Ah, great point. I play solo acoustic rock.
I cover artists like:
Dylan, Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Cash, Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, John Prime, Neil Young, Muddy Waters, and other similar artists.

Nice to see a fellow chordian I'm an editor for that site...

The best resource I've found for finding new music is here http://www.music-map.com/ Just put in the name of an artist that you like and it will give you a whole page of similar artist with the ones that are most similar closest to your original artist. Very useful. -Pix

Hi...I recognized many of these but I don't think I saw any funny songs. Like silly or comedic songs just to make folks laugh.

Did I miss one?

Oh gee! You gotta' have some funny songs. A lot of familiar covers or wrist-slashing music gets old without a funny song for contrast. (Only funny songs do not get old.)

Haven't heard them, huh?

Have I got a deal for you! <g>

Go to http://www.sounds.windmillpro.com/lib1.htm

and click on any song title there. This is my SoundClipJoint which I use to share songs. Please note that there are four "shelves" of songs there. For silly, try the "Folk/Ethnic" shelf. (Though "Angelina" is always a hoot.)

Any song you would like to learn, e-mail me and I will send you a pdf of the words; the tune is already there on the site. I would doubt you would need a chord sheet...you already know more chords than I do.

Have fun...let your listeners have a chuckle.

And I say again (and again)..."It isn't about me; it is about sharing songs."

Enjoy...

Ken C.
