Default White room photos

Anyone who has followed Tony Ferguson's finishing knows that the white room photos means that the guitar is moving forward and the finishing is nearing completion. These photos show only the first coat of clear.

Hey John...how's that neck coming along???

Well, we're starting to pick up some momentum again. I actually think we're coming down the track to the station soon. Here's a photo I didn't post before, but I like a lot.

The neck is next and has actually already had some progress. I'll post pictures when time permits.

Thanks Paul. Tony does an amazing job. Yes, looking forward to getting this one. John's work has never disappointed. Tonally superb.

Here's the beginning of the headstock and neck. John decided to use some pretty sweet Bois D'rose for it (which is what the binding is) and to make it beveled. I think John has done a great job so far and it is good to see this coming along.

That Bubinga looks AMAZING!
We have over 75,000 sq. ft of Bubinga/Kawazinga veneer but none with the sap wood like this.
Cannot wait to see and hear the finished guitar.

Thanks everybody! David those sides were not particularly difficult as i remember. Certainly nothing as difficult as padouk or curly mahog.

Thanks Rye! Yep I should have posted that one before but for some reason I missed it. I think this guitar is gonna be pretty sweet. We're moving right along with this one now. Like Paul said, I'm LONG "overdue" for this one.

More progress! Here are a few pics of the neck and fretboard. John created some side markers out of bone and also created a nice touch at the 12th. These were ideas I wanted to implement and we worked on together but John gets the credit for the design specifics and of course his awesome craftsmanship. The frets are gold EVO.

The symbol on the headstock is Chinese for "destiny". My wife's Mother was raised in China in a missionary family. Additionally my youngest daughter (age 9) is also Chinese. So you could say that this symbol and the word "destiny" both have some significant meaning within our family heritage.

Smile Nice side markers!

Mike I really like the nice clean simple and highly VISIBLE side FB markers!!!

John sent me a pic too and I will have similar side markers. But I will have the slot diamonds on the FB as well. When I lay the axe down for lap slide normal side markers do me no good at all... I figure that is why Dobros and Nationals and weissenborns have so much inlay !

You are going to be rockin soon! Good for you!!!

Yay team

Paul
