Elderly introduced them in September 2016. At first, they were only available at Elderly. But, not anymore.

Robin, the salesman I spoke with at Elderly sounded skeptical about them getting the solid wood versions any time soon. We didn’t talk about it in detail, he just mentioned it in passing. I don’t know about them creating new maple ply models.

They have a laminated maple Farida, but it is the J45 clone. Not sure it has sold all that well. It is model number OT-64. Prob wouldnr be that hard to add a lam. maple LG2 style.

Congrats, enjoy! I don't know much about Farida, I'll have to take a look.

Wade, it's been a while since I bought mine, but my memory is that Farida is Elderly's "house brand," manufactured to their specs overseas and then imported to be sold only in their store and online at their website.

Yes, that is true. I think the Farida Old Town Series is named after the area where Elderly is located in Lansing...Old Town.

Elderly introduced them in September 2016. At first, they were only available at Elderly. But, not anymore:

The video on Elderly’s website represents that they designed the Old Town series.

Thanks for the info. That's very useful.
