My wife likes my Martin DRS2 the best. I played it for a friends's daughter's wedding a few weeks ago and she reminded me it was the one whose sound she likes best.

My wife said she liked my Alvarez MDA66CESHB the best. I think she just likes the softer output of the all mahogany dread

Which guitar sounds best to your significant other?
She liked the Taylor 414 best and the Martin D-15 least.
That was 2years ago. Since then the Martin has flown off to Minneapolis and the Taylor to Texas. What can I say? Those two sons never ask for anything. One was asking more for his son and they already have my old Tacoma spruce/hog parlor (best sounding guitar ever). So my son plays the Tacoma and his son plays and gives lessons on the Martin. The son in Texas said he needs to work on a good guitar for the church he pastors and wanted that one for sentimental reasons. So now I need her to pick between an Eastman E10OO and a spruce/rosewood deep auditorium Orpheum. I will put her to the test when she gets around to getting hearing aids. Seriously. I just got an Edmonds the other day, and was playing it that evening while we were watching TV. After a while she turned and commented on how good that guitar sounded, which she has never done before that I can recall.
She was right too, I'm really impressed with it.

Hi DBW…
We've been married 52 years, and we dated for 2 years before we were married, and I came with several years of playing guitars before we met. She likes them all. If she's playing them, she likes my Bashkin OM best for a couple of reasons. 1-Her hearing has deteriorated (we are both in our 70s), and it resonates the most against her body. 2-The size of it fits her body when sitting better than the Dreadnought or Mini-Jumbo. |

According to my wife: there are two I can't sell, the Martin D12-20 (she just loves the 12 string sound),
And, My Doerr Legacy as this was a one time special commission bucket list instrument that she helped develop and support. And also perhaps my McCollum GA....as she knew of the history of McCollum (and quality) and how I often thought of owning a guitar built by Lance.

My wife doesn’t have a very discerning ear, but she likes the sound of my SJ-200 since it is a bit smoother and mellower than a lot of my other guitars.
