The bog oak got a lot of love but Kevin took it home. I sold 3 of the 4 guitars that I took. It was a good weekend from that standpoint and of course the hospitality of Tom and Kathy was beyond compare. This was a guitar show that had a personal touch and it was such fun getting to meet so many AGF members and make new friends who share a common interest. It’s really worth attending. I think there will be more.
So glad to hear it, John. And congrats to Kevin!

John
That would be me. Something about it just grabbed me near the end of the show. There were really so many fantastic instruments but the redwood and the uniqueness of the neck construction and the clarity on the tone won me over.

It made it home safely and I've been cleaning it up and going over it.

John, could you tell me again exactly which redwood this was?

That is hot. But I am biased - I have two of John's guitars and am expecting my third soon. Congrats!

Hanter, I'm curious is this the exact guitar that was in the west coast build thread for Hanter?

It seems extremely close but a few things seem slightly different.

It is dear Sir!

John might have switched out a few minor things (like bridge pins, nut/saddle etc) but other than that all other details are as per the original build thread.

After building this guitar, John wanted to showcase the aesthetic beauty of this guitar and glory of its tone to a wider audience in 2021 - BIG (and purportedly Woodstock) was the perfect stage for that. I did test drive this guitar when it was completed (about 2-4 weeks old) and it sounded really really awesome. Clarity in spades with a brilliant sparkle and sweetness to it. Powerful. Bass notes were robust and even at the tender age had a nice snap. He's been telling me how the guitar has developed over the course of this year and I can imagine it sounds even better. Lucky you!

Cool. Ironically enough that build thread had caught my eye but I had the impression it was going to be a 13 fret. Thank you for your tasteful direction in the build out. I think it is an amazing instrument and really does a unique tone.

I can see why. I love both the tone, his concepts moving out of the traditional box some and the artistry of his builds in addition to the playability. Thanks!

Ah thanks for finding that .... Tony McManus also generously played it for me for a bit so I could take a video to forever remind myself that anything that comes out of the instrument that doesn't sound good is not the instruments issue

Mr. Aspiring is a fine human being and was NOT going to by a guitar this last weekend LOL and ended up with one of the best there!

Tony was absolutely amazing with his willingness to share his talent with anyone that cared to ask. I could not have expected anymore that what he gave to us. He will always have a soft spot in my heart for his participation in the second B.I.G.

Hello, my name is Mr. Aspiring. and it's been 2 days since I bought my last guitar ...

Tom, you, your family and your fine collection were inspiration that I can in fact buy many, many more outrageously gorgeous guitars and not have my family disown me.

That is so funny. Tom is benefiting even those of us who could not attend BIG. I was telling my wife last night about the photos of Tom's guitar room and cabinet. I know she was thinking "uh huh, blah blah blah...I guess we are buying a cabinet".

Congratulations! I came close when there, though originally for my daughter. If it had fret board inlays, I might have jumped. John said he’d add inlays, and I have been thinking about the guitar since I returned home, working my way toward the decision to buy it. Everything visually just works on that guitar, and the fan fret was very comfortable. Enjoy tha beautiful guitar!
