Default NGD: PRS SE Hollowbody Piezo II

I was finally able to try one of these out and was blown away by it. As I was sitting there playing with it deciding whether or not to buy it, in walks Doyle Dykes! I asked him to play it a bit for me (pic below). It was a fun afternoon and the blue PRS is now mine!

There have been some complaints about neck width but I have big hands and find it comfortable. I was quite blown away by the sound of the guitar. The Piezo is awesome and combines well with the humbuckers.20220121_150229.jpg

How cool is it that you bought a guitar that Doyle played... and you have the provenance to prove it (the pic).

Congrats on the SE Hollowbody. They're fantastic guitars.

Wow, how cool is that?!? What store was that? Since Doyle got his start playing in church, you could call that your guitar’s Christening. Beautiful guitar, btw!

I've had my eye on this guitar ever since I heard one played last year by a local gigger who also is sponsored by PRS. The musician was super gracious explaining everything to me--because I was floored at how convincing the acoustic tone was via the piezo. He did point out he runs the piezo through another pedal to refine that even more, but it was nothing exotic.

Since then I've gone down a rabbit hole of electrics that have an acoustic option like the PRS, to acoustics that have an electic option like the Cole Clarks with humbuckers. It's an amazing time to play guitar.

And yeah what a great story!
