Cool NAD Fender

A family friend had left a 1995 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe at my MIL house....14 years ago. He was visiting at the same time as we were, so I made an offer on the amp(I've played through it a bunch, and it has AWESOME tone) He said....no.

Then he just gave it to me. Holy Cow.
Pics asap.

A great friend indeed! Enjoy your new Fender. Do you play mostly clean, with a little overdrive, or distorted?

All. It has amazing clean tone, and mods to tame the drive and master, and boost the more drive channel. Plus a celestion vintage 30 to boot.

Wow, that sounds awesome. The drive channel has long been the weak point for these amps, but those mods sound perfect for it (especially the V30, my favourite speaker).

Have fun. Just don't blow your ear drums out - those things can move a lot of air!

My ears like the cln vol at about 2, and the same for the drive master. Uber headroom to spare. Also, being mostly an acoustic player, my tone palate is nicely filled with this slightly tamed Beastie, makes my $90.00 Squier Strat sound like $900.

i just worked on a friend's 2002 version. great sound but i don't like pc boards. what a mess.

i gave him an overdrive pedal to try since the drive channel is pretty bad.

play music!

My third one. The Special Edition Silver Bullet. Has a V30 in it. The drive channel.....still horrible. However, the clean channel is stunning and it loves dirt pedals.

Enjoy it!

With the ss rectifier mods and the audio taper volumes, and the v30, the gain is fantastic creamy buttery even. And the clean? Yum. In fact the drive channel has the warm sparkly cleans the clean Chan does, with a bit of overdrive. The more gain is tight but harmonically roomy. The stock USA version has a nasally midrange, but these mods make the mids feel more vocal....
