Default What's Your Favorite Looking Electric Guitar?

What's Your Favorite Looking Electric Guitar?

Personally, I simply love the traditional Fender classic Eric Clapton's Blackie look:

I've always liked the look of a semi-hollowbody, like my ES-345... the Taylor T-3 is a pretty sweet addition to that!

There are many electric guitar shapes that I like, though... Stratocasters always take me back to my youth, growing up in and around Fullerton in the late 50's and 60's... pretty much, back then? EVERYONE had a Strat, if they had the $$$!

I really like the look of Les Pauls, too... but I've never played one that "felt" right, to me; try as I might, I haven't been able to "get next to" one of those...

The electric guitar that has always FELT the best to me... is a good old Telecaster! I don't know what it is, but I really REALLY like those guitars... simple, efficient and great at what they do! Not the sexiest looking guitar on the planet, I know...

It's funny; I have done SO MUCH modifying on my 345, just so I can approximate a Tele and a Strat tone on it... if you squint one ear and close the other one, I think I've gotten there!

play on.....................................>

John

Obviously I'm biased, but I think my Tokai is the best looking guitar in the world.

Without a doubt:
Olympic white Telecaster with maple neck
(or a colored one with white binding.)
Something about the simplicity and headstock of this guitar. It's understated and elegant.

Stratocaster comes in a very close second but I've been desensitized by all the cheap variants.

I love the look of Randy Rhodes' poka dot flying v. Also, Jimmy Page's Gibson double neck. Of course, those guitars look amazing when they're the ones playing it!
