Emerald X10 Questions
Hello all,
Any X10 owners out there, I am curious about a couple of things. The neck on the X10 - is it noticeably different from their other guitars? I’ve had an X20 and an X30, and both had necks that were very fatiguing to me with the pronounced shoulders, and they actually hurt my thumb. Same goes for the neck on an X7 that I played. Emerald says the string gauge is 12-56 - has anyone put lighter strings on it? If so, was there a noticeable drop off in volume or tone? Has anyone tried electric strings on the X10? If so, your impressions? Thanks in advance, and be well.

I have been using Custom Lights (.011 - .052) on my X10. No loss in tone or volume, but I have always felt my X10 is a bit more "mellow" than either my X7 or X20 acoustically. Both of those other guitars have more kick on the bass, but the X10 is has a lovely balance acoustically. Plugged in (and that is the guitar's forte') it has a great range of tones.
I have not tried electric guitar strings on it, so I can't offer an opinion on that. --------- On edit: the neck is thinner than my X7 or X20, but I find each of them comfortable to play.

Thanks, Cap’n. That helps.
Anyone else have any impressions?
