Dance with my father - suggestions?
I am currently trying to arrange a solo guitar and voice version of Dance with my father by Luther Van Dross:
Just wondering if anyone may be able to provide some tips on how to make the Dm in this chord progression fit in with the rest of the "riff" that I'm using? The song structure is like this: [C] If I could [C] get [G] Another [G] Chance [Am] Another [Am] walk [F] Another [F] dance with him [Dm] I'd play a [Dm] song that would [Am] Never ever [Am] end How I'd [F] love love [F] love To [G] dance with my [G] father [C] again C ------------------------- ----------------1-------- ------------------------- --0/2------------------- -----------3------------ ------------------------ G ------------------------- ----------------1-------- ------------------------- --0/2------------------- ------------------------ -----------3------------ Am ------------------------- ----------------1-------- ------------------------- --0/2------------------- -----------0------------ ------------------------ F ------------------------- ----------------1-------- ------------------------- --0/2------------------- ------------------------ -----------1------------ Dm (not sure what to do here for this chord to make it fit in with what the other chords are doing, any suggestions appreciated) ------------------------- ------------------------ ------------------------- --------------------- ------------------------ ----------------------- Am F G C |

SInce the melodic rhythm of the vocals change there, I'd be inclined to change the backing guitar as well...
