Thanks. It is nice to have the 000S shape in my hands. I play most every day for ~ 1/2 hour, average. I’ve been playing this new instrument a lot, to the point my callouses are worn and sore. It is a very sweet thing.

Thanks for everyone’s assessments. I guess I’m going to have to cut a piece of wood off of it and have DNA testing done.

Here is the Honduran Mahogany back on my CS J-17 (Honduran was specified) with the same finish as you have on your 15 series;
You can see that it was very light colored when it was new. After two years, it's gotten much darker, but it's still no where near as dark as yours. All in all, it makes no difference at all. How does your new guitar sound? Do you like it? Does it sound like what you were expecting? That's what matters. |

My speculated guess is sapele. Looks similar to the back of my OM Takamine.
That guitar is sapele b/s with a cedar top. |
