Emerald has become that brand for me. #3 is on its way, and there are others in the range I could easily consider.

Looking at what is in the house hands down it is Kalamazoo-built Gibsons (the older the better).

In terms of newish guitars though it would be Fairbanks. If I was inclined to spend the money I would more than likely have at least three sitting here instead of just one.

A bit of both.

For me it is Takamine, I have two and considering a third. They have a local dealer and they play so far above their price point. Though my wife got up set with the last two guitars I bought she calmed down by the end of the day.

But I am itching for a Gibson. A Dove in-particular. The only way she would calm down after that one is bury me in the back yard. Where the dogs do their business.

I have multiple guitars by two builders: Martin (4) and Boucher (2). Does that make either my "go to"? I do tend to play them more...

Do you have a guitar brand that's your "go to"
I have all my guitars strewn throughout the house, so that I play whatever one is in the room I'm in. It helps me rotate through them and makes it easier on me (especially in a two-story house). It's easy to stash a guitar case behind a chair or in a corner where it's out of the way but easy to grab—assuming your spouse/roommate/dog/etc. can tolerate having guitars everywhere, anyway.

As far as brands, I'm fairly agnostic. Give me a guitar that plays well and sounds good; I don't care who made it. Like most people here, I've played some good ones from "bad" brands and some bad ones from "good" brands.

Godin/Seagull would be the empirical conclusion for me. Of course -- like I'll assume others will say in the thread -- it's not that I seek out a brand out of prestige or some "wear the team colors" emotional connection. Or to put it another way: I bought and used the guitars, and this is what those choices show afterwards.

The one's I've bought were based on affordable price on the used market, sound that I found useful, wider nuts and fatter necks. And moving beyond utility value, I kind of dig the no-frills "Shaker chair" looks.

Just too many brands to get locked into one, so mine are all different.

But I suppose if I was to break down and get more than one of any brand, it would be Santa Cruz. For whatever reason, they feel right.

I don’t really as I have owned and happily played Martin, Gibson, Alvarez, Yamaha, Taylor, Wechter, Pono, Hill, Wingert and Kramer.
Wingert, Kramer and Alvarez are the ones that I have owned or currently own more than one of their fine instruments.
I am happy to discover any guitar that brings it no matter what is on the headstock.
Best,
Jayne

Alvarez Yairi, which, by dint of sheer chance, I was fortunate enough to start out on. I find them delightful both sonically & visually, especially that brilliant headstock logo. Were I in the market for a new guitar, AY is a maker I'd trust implicitly.

Impossible for me. All of my guitars are very different from one another. There are many brands I could get along with. I do own 3 Eastman guitars because they tend to hit the sweet spot of tone, price point, playability and style that I prefer for my gigs (sorry guys, I'm not taking a $4K guitar to a gig), but at home I play a Huss and Dalton, Gibson, Lowden and an Emerald (also gets gigged in less than decent conditions). Plus there are so many more I'd love to own one day. I'm still looking for the right Martin.

Exclusive finger style player here. I've owned 50 guitars, and 20 of them have been Taylor. Of those 50 guitars, they've ranged from multiple Froggy Bottoms to Bourgeois to Santa Cruz to Collings to Beniteau to a Martin D-45.

Taylor Guitars are the easiest acoustics to play in the world in my opinion and are the very best sounding when it comes to my playing style.

Granted, my opinion and 5 bucks will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks...

Martin would be my choice. I've tried a few others and always come back to Martin.

Not a Brand guy per-say But if I can't find it in Seagull or Yamaha then I look elsewhere
Still want to try...Yamaha L6, LL16 And a upper-line Seagull to see what they are about.
Would like to try Guilds new F240 Jumbo...

As I said... I'm more of if it fits play it
