Default What brand do you know about ONLY because of AGF.

I’ve been making a list from memory of all the acoustics I’ve owned, and I’m up to 128 and counting.
And when I got to my Santa Cruz, I realized that Ive actually only seen one.. other than mine.. out there in real life.

Same with my Webber.
With the exception of the one I owned, I’ve only seen ONE in the wild.
And I’ve seen just one Collings, and one Olson.
The Voyage Air models .. I’ve had 6 of them .. I read about here, bought each of them here through AGF Classifieds.
But I’ve never seen anybody in my circle who had one, other than me.

I’m not talking about in stores, or on stage with a touring musician.
I’m talking about actually seeing and being able to touch it, perhaps even play it, like at an open mic or jam session.

Then I thought about brands I wouldn’t even know existed, except for reading about them here on AGF.

I had never heard of, nor have I ever seen a Bourgeois, Huss and Dalton, Froggy Bottom, or Wingert.
Never seen a Thompson, Greven, Sexauer, Kopp, McKnight, Osthoff, Kinnaird, Maton, Manzer, Circa, Brondel, Lowden, or even an R. Taylor.
(the list could go on)

I had never even HEARD of any of these, except for AGF.
(did see an Edwinson once, but I met the owner here on AGF, and discovered we were neighbors)

So here’s my question-
What guitar builder do you know about ONLY because of exposure here on AGF?

Emerald and Rainsong which is to say that I probably wouldn't own either of my current guitars were it not for AGF...

Had never heard of Boucher until I saw it mentioned in a thread here. Now I have one bumped to the top of my “must have” list.

the chatter here on AGF persuaded me to check out Breedlove. Then the guitar itself persuaded me to purchase it.

Elliot capos, G7 capos.

I am fortunate to live in an area that has had some very good guitar stores such as The Podium and Willie's, so I already knew about much of what is discussed here.

Yes, of course, Rainsong and Emerald.

And Breedlove.. how did I forget that one?!?
And I’ve even owned a Breedlove!
But I’ve never seen one other than mine.

Oh, and Larrivee too.. I’ve read about them, but never seen one.

Literally...all of them, except for Martin and Gibson.

Yes, it could be a long list. But the two most recent to catch my eye are

- Emerald, which I just ordered because I made the mistake of wandering into the Carbon Fiber forum with my guard down.

- Ben Wilborn, a builder in Reno NV. I would love to get a custom build of one of his Comma series. I wouldn't have heard of him if he hadn't come up in an AGF thread.

There are of course many other small builders.

Default Discoveries

Before the AGF my world was pretty much Martin and Larrivee. I would think 99% of all AGF members have heard of , seen or lusted after a minimum of 20 of the same outstanding brands. Not necessary to list them.

I guess my biggest surprise has to be my Ken Miller. Would never EVER have heard about this exceptional builder.
