Default If you can only have 1 electric which one?

If you can only own 1 or 2 electric guitars and you play for fun which would it be? I'm selling off some stuff but torn on what to keep. This isn't an ad to sell stuff. I already have buyers. I currently own a EJ strat , a PRS custom 24 and a MIM tele and a warmoth strat, Ibanez artcore semi hollowbody, and a new Ibanez montage. I think I'm going to sell the two fenders and buy a MIM strat. I have to keep the PRS since it is so gorgeous and I would never be able to replace it for the price I got it for.

Thumbs up One of Each...

One semi-hollow and one solid...
What do ya think of the Montage? They look slick.

I'm down to a Samick jazzbox, and not having electric withdrawl...

I have the KOA montage and I'm still a little undecided. The guitar is beautiful looking except for the neck looks a little cheesy compared to the body.

Right now I'm pretty happy with my ES335 copy and my Jackson soloist, but that's right now.

If I had to have only one guitar it would be something like an ES335. They're so darn versatile.

I'd keep my Les Paul. Most versatile electric IMO. Plus, on mine, both pickups are coil-tapped, so I can get a thinner sound if I want to.

As for a second one, I'd either add a Strat or an ES335-type, depending on which direction you want to go.

I know many people aren't fans of them, but I would say my 1 choice for electric would be my Taylor T5. For my style and how versitile it is, IMO its the perfect guitar.

If your talking about only owning one electric mine would be a T5 for it's versatility.

My top three are an ES335, a Les Paul Standard, and a Strat. You gotst lots o' bases covered there, with the semi-hollow/maple center block, maple capped mahogany, and a strat. Veddy noice indeed.

I bought my carvin with a "only 1 electric" mindset. Particularly because it has coil taps, so you can turn off half of the humbuckers to turn them back into single coil pickups. With only one electric, i think versatility of sound is important. I've got a friend with the line6 variax and pedal board... that's a pretty nice modelling guitar, and it's quite versatile.

if i had to buy one electric guitar and a broad spectrum of sound wasn't important, i'd probably go with a gibson sg. i like the feel and sound... but that's probably influenced heavily by the fact that it was the first electric i ever played (graciously loaned for a few weeks from my teacher)

+1. I have a '96 American Standard, and it's the most versatile electric around IMO (I also have an Aria lawsuit-era LP copy). With the right amp (Vox Valvetronix in my case), I can do anything from country to blues to classic rock to metal.

That's an easy choice for me since I only have one electric. My Godin SDxt is very versatile. I love the choices that I get with the HSH configuration. If I were to choose a second guitar it would have to be a 335 style.
