Just a note if you DO use the platemate. You have to double the adhesive. Get the pickguard adhesive from Stewmac (it's the same as on the platemate) and put an extra layer and it'll hold.

There is no need to remove the bridge to repair the holes.

True....it is not a "have to" to remove the bridge to repair the pin holes....
