Default WTB Flight-ready OM case

Looking for a nice OM case that can handle being tossed around by the TSA. Not sure I have the stomach to pay for a Calton unless it's a real good deal but I'm open to suggestions.

Who's got what?

I've had good luck with Gator cases (since there's no way I could ever afford a Calton either). The TSA one is a bit bulkier than mine but at least you can lock it. Last time I flew with my guitar when I went to claim it the rep in the oversized baggage area said "nice guitar" to me so he'd obviously opened that case (maybe even played it?) which didn't make me very happy.

Here's the TSA one :

If it's too big for your guitar then I'd suggest throwing a couple of towels in there to cushion and stabilize it.

IMO,you can't do any better than a Hiscox OM--and there are two for sale right here on the AGF--though only one (matthewpatrick) will ship. And he's a good guy to deal with!

You think they can handle TSA abuse? That'd be my only reservation, they almost don't seem robust enough to make it past TSA. Wouldn't want to chance it.

For a case that can withstand a truck driving over it, look at the SKB iSeries cases. I've had three of them and you could throw a $25K guitar down a couple flights of stairs with confidence. They're heavy, but have wheels. They're also waterproof. Think a Pelican rifle or camera case. They're the same thing.

Well, I must confess that my only personal experience in traveling with the Hiscox on planes is with the higher level model--the LA GAD (Artist) version, and I put that in a padded/insulated Colorado Case Cover. That said, I have never had an issue with TSA or baggage handlers, and have felt 100% confident.

(Full disclosure--I used to sell Hiscox cases).

It's not really the TSA you need be concerned with. Yes, they might want to look in there and they'll handle it when you're going through security but your bigger worry is the baggage handlers of whatever airline you fly. Some are better than others, some airports are better than others, some cases are better than others. Don't ask me how I know.

I wouldn't want to take that bet!

Yeah this is what I meant. I was using the wrong terminology but you get it.

I own one of these...

It's for a Dread, but an OM would fit.

PM me for the best price!

Yes I definitely did but wanted to clarify for anyone that didn't.
